Alicia Williams Ed.D
Managing Director of Human Resources
Alicia Williams serves as the Director of Human Resources for FWW since July of 2018 and has over 23 years of Human Resources/Operations/Employee Relations/Training experience in the academic, telecommunications, manufacturing and non-profit industries, specializing in policy creation and administration, resolution of employee relations concerns, strategic and operational planning, benefits and payroll administration, training and development, recruitment, salary analysis and administration, worker’s compensation and safety in union and non-union settings.
Alicia received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of San Diego and her MBA, with a Certification in Human Resources from Keller Graduate School. Alicia is bilingual in Spanish and English and earned her Doctor of Education degree at The George Washington University. Alicia is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), holds a Professional Membership in the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), serves on the Board of Mundo Verde Public Charter School and holds the position of Immediate Past President for the Washington, DC Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).
Alicia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family, being on stage with her kids, listening to music, and reading books.

Emily Wurth is Food & Water Watch’s Co-Organizing Director. Emily conducts research and promotes policies at the local, state and federal level to help protect the nation’s water systems as public assets, and to safeguard the country’s water resources. Lane Brooks began with Food & Water Action and Food & Water Watch as a board member in its first year and was invited to become its first COO and CFO the year after that in 2007. He had over–all responsibility for operations including administration, finance, human resources, IT and development overseeing growth from $3.5 million to $19 million in 2020 when he relinquished his slate of duties to become Budget and Funding Advisor. Lane has more than 35 years’ experience in non–profit fundraising and management with advocacy and performing arts organizations. He has served as a leader in the Washington, DC, philanthropic community as President of the city’s chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and was a founding board member of The Non Profit Alliance. He has been a speaker at many fundraising conferences and has served as volunteer lobbyist and chair of Government Affairs for several groups including Direct Marketing Association Nonprofit Federation, The Non Profit Alliance and the Fairfax County Park Foundation. Lane is a Texas native and has a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Louisiana State University. Michael Doerrer has served as Food & Water Watch’s Managing Director of Communications since 2019. In that role, he leads integrated, organization-wide marketing, digital fundraising, acquisition, and communications strategies to help win FWW’s critical campaigns. With more than two decades of strategic communications experience, he previously ran communications and engagement programs at both federal and local government organizations. For almost 25 years, he’s also taught communications at several major universities, including the University of Maryland, College Park and Johns Hopkins. In his spare time, Michael is an avid runner; he’s finished 15 marathons and counting. He lives in Frederick, Maryland with his husband and two children. He can be reached at [email protected]

Managing Director of Advocacy Programs
Michele was formerly the Chesapeake Regional Coordinator for Waterkeeper Alliance. At Waterkeeper, Michele helped to develop and implement the campaigns of eighteen Waterkeeper programs that protect the Chesapeake and Coastal Bays. Prior to joining the Waterkeeper, Michele was co-founder and Senior Counsel of the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP). At EIP, she was responsible for developing and implementing legal campaigns under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act, focusing on industrial livestock production and municipal sewage issues. Michele previously served as an attorney in the Enforcement Division of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where she worked closely with the Department of Justice to develop and bring actions for violations of federal environmental laws. Prior to joining EPA, Michele was General Counsel for Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Michele works out of Food & Water Watch’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Tamara Tripp is the Managing Director of Philanthropy at Food and Water Watch.
With more than twenty years of nonprofit development experience, Tamara is committed to the nonprofit environmental community, having worked at places such as the Wildlife Conservation Society, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Garden Conservancy. Tamara also has a Master’s in Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from NYUWagner. Growing up on a dairy farm in Minnesota, Tamara spent most of her childhood caring for animals and her family farmland — it is through this experience and love of the land and the protection of our food systems that brought her to Food and Water Watch. Tamara is a passionate gardener, mushroom farmer, avid hiker and runner, and is a practicing yogi. Tamara lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband. She can be reached at [email protected].
